This Privacy Policy explains how AnesPilot LLC ("AnesPilot," "we," "us") handles information in the AnesPilot mobile app (the "App"). In short: the App keeps your information on your own device. We do not collect, store, sell or share your personal information.
1.1 What the App stores, and where
Everything you create in the App stays on your device:
- Notes, notebook pages, checklists, case logs, calendar entries, phone lists and settings
- Pictures you add to a note (taken with your camera or picked from your photo library)
- Files you import, and backups you choose to export
This information is saved in the App's private storage on your phone or tablet. It is not sent to us, and we have no way to see it. If your device's own backup service (such as iCloud or Google device backup) is turned on, your device may include the App's data in that backup. That backup is controlled by your device's settings and by Apple or Google, not by us.
1.2 Information we collect
We do not collect personal information through the App. Specifically:
- No account or sign-in is needed.
- There are no ads, advertising identifiers or tracking.
- There are no analytics, crash-reporting or marketing tools.
- We do not run servers that receive your notes or files.
When you buy the App, Apple or Google processes the purchase. They share sales information with us (such as the number of downloads and the country of sale) but not your name, email or payment details. Their own privacy policies cover the purchase.
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to answer you, and we delete support emails within 24 months unless we need them for a legal reason.
1.3 Device permissions
The App asks for a permission only when you use the feature that needs it. You can turn any of these off in your device settings at any time.
- Camera and Photos: to add a picture to a note. Pictures stay on your device.
- Files: to import a file or save a backup or export where you choose.
- Phone: tapping a number in the phone list opens your phone app to call it. The App does not read your call history or contacts.
1.4 Connections to the internet
The App is built to work offline. Its typeface is built into the App, so it does not download fonts. It connects to the internet only in these cases:
- Links you tap: some screens link to outside websites, such as reference sources or the AnesPilot Assistant. These open in your web browser and are covered by that website's own privacy policy.
1.5 This website
This website has no accounts, cookies, analytics, advertising or tracking, and it does not use forms that send us information. Like any website, our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and reliability; we do not use them to identify you.
1.6 The AnesPilot Assistant (AI features)
The App's AI features (Care Plans and Evaluations, Study with Claude, and Ask Claude) are provided through the AnesPilot Assistant, a separate web page hosted on claude.ai and run by Anthropic, PBC. When you tap one of these buttons, it opens in your web browser. Nothing is sent from the App itself.
On the Assistant page:
- You sign in to your own Claude account. The AI requests use your own Claude plan and are processed by Anthropic under Anthropic's Consumer Terms and Privacy Policy (anthropic.com/legal).
- Files and text you add there (for example lecture PDFs, a care plan form or your case notes) are sent to Anthropic to generate the result. The Assistant keeps your folders, study guides and files in your browser's storage on the claude.ai website.
- We do not receive, see or store anything you enter or create in the Assistant.
- Do not enter patient names, dates of birth, medical record numbers or any other information that could identify a patient.
The App shows a notice and asks for your permission before you open the Assistant for the first time (see the AI Notice).
1.7 Health information and HIPAA
AnesPilot is an educational tool for healthcare students and professionals. It is not meant for patient records. We are not a "covered entity" or "business associate" under HIPAA, and the App is not built to store protected health information. Do not enter information that identifies a patient anywhere in the App or the Assistant.
1.8 How long information is kept, and how to delete it
- Your App data stays on your device until you delete it.
- To delete individual items, delete them in the App.
- To delete everything, delete the App from your device. This erases all of its data from that device. Backups you exported, and device backups, are not erased; delete those separately.
- Information in the Assistant is stored in your browser on claude.ai. Delete it there, or clear that site's data in your browser settings. Information processed by Anthropic is handled under Anthropic's privacy policy and your Claude account settings.
- Because we do not hold your App data, we cannot see, export or delete it for you. To delete support emails you sent us, email theanespilot@gmail.com.
1.9 Third parties
We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not give any third party access to data in the App. The outside services named above (Apple, Google, and Anthropic) handle information under their own privacy policies when you use them directly. If we ever add a service that receives user data, we will only use one that protects that data at least as well as this policy, and we will update this policy and ask for your permission first where the law or the app stores require it.
1.10 Children
AnesPilot is meant for adults studying or working in healthcare. It is not directed to children under 13, and the AI features require users to be at least 18, as Anthropic's terms require. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us information, email us and we will delete it.
1.11 Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Canada), you may have the right to know, access, correct, delete or move your personal information, to object to or limit its use, and to withdraw consent. Because the App does not collect personal information, there is usually nothing for us to provide, but you can always contact us to ask. We will answer within the time the law requires, and we will not treat you differently for asking. We do not sell or "share" personal information for targeted advertising.
If you are in the EEA or UK: AnesPilot LLC is the controller of the limited information we hold (support emails), and we process it to respond to you (our legitimate interest, or steps you ask us to take). You may complain to your local data protection authority.
1.12 Security
Your App data is protected by your device's own security, such as your passcode and device encryption. Keep your device locked and up to date. No method of storage is perfectly secure.
1.13 Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version with a new effective date. If a change affects how the App handles your information, we will also tell you in the App before the change applies.
